Presenting Miss Charlotte Eva Hongola Born January 25, 2013 at 5:04 PM. She weighted a petite 6 lbs 6 oz and a very stylish 18.5 inches. We all wish her a life of happiness surrounded by loved ones.

Welcome Miss Charlotte Hongola! Charlotte Hongola attended her very first baby shower ... well sort of. Her unveiling is scheduled for January 30, 2013 and Mom, Nicole Widak Hangola, and Dad, Scott Hongola, can't wait. In the meantime, Nicole celebrated with family and friends who showered her with all the goodies any Mom could ever need. There were strollers and bottles and lots and lots of clothes and what only seemed to be an inexhaustable supply of diapers. But the most precious gift was Ann Hongola's gift of her family's christening gown to celebrate another generation. To see pictures of the shower, please click here!

Wedding

Presenting Mr. & Mrs. Karl Hirsch! Congratulations! Last Saturday night Jennifer Looper and Karl Hirsch became man and wife. The parents of the groom, John and Irene Hirsch, are long-time supporters of the Dance Group. After a honeymoon in Sedona, the happy couple will be settling down in their home in San Gabriel. Graduates of the United States Military Acadamy at West Point are known as the "Long Gray Line". They include some of our nation's most famous and influential men: Ulysses S. Grant, Robert E. Lee, Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson, George S. Patton, Omar Bradley, Douglas Mac Arthur, Dwight Eisenhower, and Norman Schwarzkopf.

Each candidate must obtain a nomination from a member of Congress or from the Department of the Army and are evaluated for admission on the basis of academic performance, demonstrated leadership potential, physical aptitude and medical qualification.

Soon another name will be added to that "Long Grey Line", Kurt Boehm; son of Herb & Marie Boehm and grandson of Josef & Grete Boehm and Les and Susan Rushing.

From all of us, Good Luck Kurt. We're all proud of you.

Birthdays

We have two recent birthdays:

Frau Schmelzer celebrated here birthday at German Heritage Day at Old World. I asked her which birthday this was. She said, "more than 39!" That much I knew since Anneliese and I share the same birthday. I won't tell you how old Anneliese is but I'm 53.

Oma Resi (Seitz) celebrated her 80th birthday with her family. We all hope we have many, many more.

Congratulations Jennifer and Will!

Look who's tying the knot! Will Kolbow asked Jennifer Dahl to marry him on a beach in Cambria. How romantic! The two met at California State University Fullerton in of all places a statistics class! Will had just passed the test with an "A" and Jennifer, well she didn't get an "A". Being the polite guy that he is (and recognizing the opportunity to make time with an available co-ed) Will offered to help Jenn study for the next test. Their first "study session" consisted of dinner at TGI Friday's and a horrible game of pool. There must have been at least a little studying going on because they both passed the statistics class, and the rest is history. That brings us to the wedding. It's scheduled for August 7, 2004. The ceremony and reception will be in the evening at the Springfield Banquet Center in Fullerton and The Express will be playing.

Look Who's Expexcting!

It seems that some of our members have been reading the Bible lately, especially the party about going forth and multiplying!

Guess who's expecting an Easter baby? It's Stefan and Mitzi! And you'll never guess how they announced it to Terri! Seems they called her but didn't get an answer. (Dennis was out of town). They called several times later in the evening and still no answer. Concerned, they called the police and asked them to check on her. After some very personal questions about her binge drinking habits, the police agreed to drive over. (You pass out once at a New Year's evening party and they never let you forget!) Next thing you know the Moreno Valley cops are crawling on her patio roof and banging on her bedroom window with their batons.

Before leaving, the police congratulated Terri on becoming a grandmother.

Marisa and Jonathan Grossman

June 22, 2003

Erika (Bauer) and Dale Lemmon of Laguna Beach happily announce the marriage of their daughter, Marisa Dawn, to Dr. Jonathan David Grossman, son of Susan and Mark Grossman of Agoura Hills, on Sunday, June 22.  Marisa's Mom is a former member of the dance group, and her proud grandparents are Heidi and Josef Bauer, of Vista, California.

The couple exchanged vows overlooking the ocean at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Dana Point, surrounded by family and friends, many of whom had traveled from as far away as Austria, the Persian Gulf, and the east coast to participate in the festivities. The dinner reception was held in the Pacific Promenade Ballroom at the Ritz-Carlton, where guests celebrated and danced until almost midnight!

The bride recently received her master’s degree in Education and Psychology from Pepperdine University; the bridegroom received the degree of Doctor of Medicine from St. George’s University, and will be completing his medical residency in New Jersey and Minnesota, where they will be residing after a Hawaiian honeymoon.  Congratulations!

Marisa's brother, Brian Erich Lemmon, beat her to the altar when he married Stacy Marie Williams, daughter of Gail and Tim Williams, of Avon Park, Florida on November 9, 2002.  The nuptials took place at Cypress Gardens in Winterhaven, Florida, with a reception immediately following.  A second reception was held a week later at the Hotel Laguna in Laguna Beach, California, where family and friends celebrated and danced the night away to the music of The Express.  The couple honeymooned in Hawaii and are making their home in Daytona Beach, Florida.  Stacy received her Bachelor's Degree in Business from Stetson University and is currently employed by Bank of America;  Brian, a pilot, received his Bachelor's Degree in Aeronautical Science from Embry-Riddle University, where he is currently on the university's staff as a flight instructor and air safety specialist.
